Gift Aid

The Club is registered as an Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). As such we are able to reclaim the basic rate tax on some donations from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) through the Gift Aid scheme

Donations received from individuals who pay UK income tax are eligible for gift aid but any from companies who pay Corporation Tax are not.

Fund Raising

With ever increasing costs, the income derived from member subscriptions, match fees and bar profits is no longer sufficient to provide the necessary standard of facilities and equipment. We therefore have to supplement this income with a mixture of fund raising events, grants and sponsorship by local businesses and supporters.

Music on the Pitch

The Chairman

At the close of the cricket season we host the highly successful “Music on the Pitch” events. As well as generating much needed income for the Club, MOP provided the opportunity both for the local community to enjoy the facilities and for the local musicians who perform to showcase their talent. In 2015, Music on the Pitch will be on Saturday September 6th

Race Nights and Quiz Nights

Each year we organise Race Nights and Quiz Night to raise funds. A very well attended night at the 37 Club, Puriton on 28th February raised more than £1000.

Sponsorship

The generosity of our sponsors helps. Season sponsors help towards overall running costs and improving facilities while the contributions from Match Sponsors helps with the expenses of staging individual games - match balls, umpires fees and teas.

Grants

As well as the grants that have helped towards purchasing the ground, we are also very grateful for those received in the recent years from the Somerset Youth Opportunity Fund, Somerset Community Foundation, the O2 It's Your Community Fund, the Tony Coles Trust, the Polden Post and Shapwick Parish Council
